The Toy Story That Time Forgot Gets a New Synopsis and Poster

It's just a dinosaur down the street, don't worry about it.

As satisfying and heartbreaking as Toy Story 3 was for so many of us, we can’t say no to spending just a little more time with our favorite characters— particularly those like Kristen Schaal’s Trixie (above) whom we only got to meet for a little while. Good thing she’s going to have a lot to do in the upcoming ABC Christmas Special, The Toy Story That Time Forgot!

Here’s the official summary for this special, which will air this holiday season of 2014:

During a post-Christmas play date, the ‘Toy Story’ gang find themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. It’s all up to Trixie, the triceratops, if the gang hopes to return to Bonnie’s room.

Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang will be joined by Kevin McKidd as Reptilius Maximus, the “delusional” dinosaur who, like Buzz once did, thinks he is real. How common a problem is toys-thinking-they-are-real anyway? Does it only happen to the really badass characters who would rather pretend they are space rangers and dino-warriors? You’d think there’d be some kind of DSM to help with that sort of thing, is all I’m saying.

Anyway, Reptilius features prominently in the below Mike Mignola-designed poster, which debuted on TV Line and will be available as an exclusive at Comic-Con this weekend:

Between this and that Jurassic World poster, it’s a good time to be a dinosaur fan.

Yup, I’m excited. Christmas can’t come soon enough this year.
