I like how he treats his ignorance of what he’s speaking about (“Dark Knight Lights Up or whatever it is…”) as a point of pride.

He’s totally right!  It must be a conspiracy.

What other conspiracies could be connected to this…OH!  Jon Stewart mentioned this EXACT THING the night before as a joke.  Jon must have used a time machine to travel FORWARD in time and steal this from Rush.

Because it’s not like “bane” is a legitimate English word, or anything.  I mean, I know there’s a “wolfsbane” and a “henbane” plant, and every other sword in Lord of the Rings is named “something’s-bane”, and there’s that whole idiom that something is “the bane of my existence” and all.  But that’s probably all coincidence, right?  Because it’s just a nice sound.  Also, clearly the punk band Bane is up to the same thing.  Curse those Liberals!  *shakes fist*

 I think it’s coincidental.  I think Bain is named after the guy that started it.  The company can’t help if it was founded by a super villain.

It’s not the “Bane” name (that is a coincidence).  But there is a theme in the new movie that is the whole class warfare/haves-vs-have-nots/1% type of thing.  Which, coming from Hollywood is a bit presumptuous and tiring.

This is a really disgusting piece. It was obvious that he was laughing at the idea that wasn’t even his in the first place, and he goes on to call it a ridiculous comparison. I love you guys, Mary Sue, but come on. Not cool. If you wanted to talk about the stupid Bane=bane capital idea then you should have done it in the frame of those who created it not Rush Limbaugh. I can like geeking out, I can like feminism, I can’t like blatantly spininng things because you have a grudge against someone.

I love how it has gotten so desperate now that they are going to name a connection between a comicbook villain & whatever political theater is hot right about now. I wholeheartedly agree. Unless your public face is a luchador mask, you can’t pretend you’re an asshole and then expect the public to believe it’s all about the ratings. Did any of you look past the headline and read the article? He’s referring to some of Romney’s opposition who suggested last week that they were hoping to use Bane against Romney due to the comparisons with Bain. Limbaugh isn’t the one who suggested a connection, he’s disputing the connection and suggest that the American people aren’t dumb enough to fall for those who make the comparison.

Interesting timing for Limbaugh. This happened right after the Daily Show came back from summer break. One of the their first Romney jokes was to say that it was funny that Romney’s former company had the same name as the current Batman villain. He can’t even think up his own stupid material.
