Gotham‘s Latest Teaser Shows Us Jerome’s Unfamiliar, Undead Face

Recommended Videos

So, is Jerome the Joker, or not? Gotham is still teasing out the answer to that question in a three-episode arc about everybody’s favorite cackling youngster.

Or least favorite, in my case. I was never a Jerome fan, and when Gotham killed him off in season two, I was genuinely relieved. I didn’t really like the idea of him turning into the Joker, although many fans did assume that’s where the show was headed, which is why his death was such a shocker.

Even after Jerome’s death, though, his presence could be felt through the entire rest of the following season. He became a martyr of sorts for the villainous underbelly of Gotham, a figure to point to and aspire to be. He got to be the Joker without actually being the Joker.

Unless he is the Joker, after all.

Anyway, Gotham has brought back characters from the dead before, and clearly, Jerome is no exception. Much like Fish, who came back from the dead and ended up looking a little different (thanks to some eyeball replacement), Jerome also looks changed. He’s rocking a real Frankenstein’s monster look, now.

Are you all caught up on Gotham? Excited to see Jerome return, or dreading it?
