Today marks the launch of the #DearMe campaign, where popular Youtube stars give advice to their younger selves to promote female empowerment. Felicia Day just put hers up about an hour ago and oh my gosh, it’s wonderful. You can participate in the campaign yourself by posting your own video or by using the hashtag #DearMe on Twitter.

Personally my own advice to teenaged-me would be this: you know that local comic book store you stare longingly at every time you drive by? Don’t be afraid to go in there and poke around. It’s probably not full of weirdos who won’t let you buy anything until you can answer their questions, and it’s not like you wouldn’t be able to answer them anyway because of the sheer amount of time you spend on Wikipedia reading about the comic books you want to read. Just do it! Just read them! (And also don’t worry so much about if it’s even possible for boys to like you, you’re gonna find out later all the underclass nerds have giant crushes on you. Embrace it. Be the nerd queen.)
