Your Childhood, But More Badass (And A Little Scary)

[View All on One Page]

French illustrator Sylvain Sarrailh may make you think you’re remembering childhood wrong with his series of “BADASS” character designs. Some may make you laugh, others may make you cry, but part of me is curled up in the corner rocking back and forth saying, “Can’t sleep, clown will eat me.”

Peach lookin’ like a BOSS… of World 8-4. Thug life.

  • Guymelef

These would make some great posters. But I want generation one ponies, dammit!

  • Charlie

Just awesome, totally makes up for the terrible fanart I saw of her on kotaku ugh.

  • Mrs. Spiderman

I hated Inspector Gadget and Tin Tin as a kid, those posters make me want to rethink my my position on that…

  • Laura Truxillo

I kinda want a heist movie where the guys wear duck masks and refer to each other by the codenames of Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Unca Scrooge. I don’t really care what else happens. Heist and caper-y hijinks.

  • Miss Cephalopod

I feel like I shouldn’t be this attracted to Mohawk!Tintin.

  • Saraquill

Is it just me, or does that stuff by the pony’s hooves look like poo?

  • Lup Lun

    Peach looks like a dude. 0_o;;;;;;;

  • Lien

My god that Tintin and Ducktales one just blew my mind!

…is it just me, or do all the ponies sort of look like Nigel Thornberry?

  • locuas

oh please, the elements of harmony can kick those fakeds out of equestria without even seating any day.

  • Octochan

Correct me if I”m wrong, but I’m sure Tintin and Capt. Haddock DID use automatic rifles and molotov cocktails in the original stories. They fought weapons smugglers, mob bosses and counterrevolutionaries, so this doesn’t seem new.

I guess horse shit is “bad ass.”

  • Guymelef

I really really wanted Penny’s computer book. I thought it was the most awesome thing ever.

Aside from the hair, the Tintin one looks fairly in-character to me, except probably less racist than the original.

The Alice in Wonderland one just kind of looks like another “ZOMG, it must be drugs!!!!111!!” interpretation, though. Bit of a pet peeve of mine, so that bugged me. >_<

Don’t worry, Ken’s head will pop right back on.

    Yes, exactly. Thank you.

  • Madeleine Odowichuk

Yes, but it’s never the same afterward.

  • Sanjay Merchant

The Ducktales one just makes me hear that “Why So Serious?” tagline spoken in Donald Duck’s voice. :-P

  • Sanjay Merchant

I would totally watch a reboot in which the Teletubbies were a hazmat team, by the way.
