According to Us Weekly (so, you know, take with a healthy heaping of incredulity), the upcoming season of American Horror Story will focus on Slender Man, the meme originated by Eric Knudsen on Something Awful in 2009.

An American Horror Story “insider” explains,

Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show. They have to buy the rights. Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there.

The creative team is also reportedly interested in having Lady Gaga return for the upcoming season.

To be honest, I’m extremely done with American Horror Story after last season, but Slender Man seems like it could be an interesting focus for the show to take next year–although I’m nervous how the series might address recent real-life crimes reportedly inspired by the meme.

What do you think of this news, gang?
