Woman’s husband insists they went on their honeymoon a year ago. Then she learns what’s going on: ‘He has three children now’
Getting an anniversary wrong can cause problems. But TikTok creator Jenna (@jennalabarre) says her husband, Jonathan, did something more confusing. He remembered their honeymoon as happening years later than it actually did.
At first, the mistake seemed personal. Viewers questioned what it could mean for their marriage, but another incident later changed the way Jenna looked at it.
This time, Jonathan was not confused about their relationship. He was trying to remember when his friend got married, and his estimate was even further off.
Then things got a little strange
In a TikTok video with around 4.2 million views, Jenna explains that the first incident happened about a year ago when Jonathan called her with what he apparently thought was an anniversary memory. “So about a year ago, my husband called me up and he said, hey, did you know we were on our honeymoon one year ago today?” Jenna recalls.
But Jonathan had the timing wrong. Jenna says they had gotten married four years earlier, so their honeymoon could not have been just one year before that conversation.
Jenna made a video about the mistake at the time, and she says viewers quickly began questioning what Jonathan’s confusion could mean. It is not unusual for viewers to read more into a questionable interaction between a husband and wife. Some suspected there was more behind the incorrect date than simple forgetfulness. “Worst case scenario was that they thought he was on a trip with a second family,” Jenna says. “Best case scenario was that he just doesn’t appreciate me or value me at all.”
More recently, another incident made Jenna rethink that original mistake. She says Jonathan showed her father a photo of himself with his friend Keegan at Keegan’s wedding. Jonathan believed the photo had been taken three years earlier. “And I was like, no, no, it’s not,” Jenna recalls.
Jonathan then tried to figure out how far off his memory was. Dates can easily become a source of confusion between couples, but Jonathan was still nowhere close. “Was it not three years ago? Was it four years ago? Does that sound more right?” Jenna recalls him asking.
The actual answer was eight years. “Jonathan, your friend Keegan got married eight years ago,” Jenna told him. To make the timeline even clearer, Jenna points out how much Keegan’s life has changed since the wedding. She says he now has three children, including a seven-year-old, a six-year-old, and a roughly one-year-old.
The second mistake changed Jenna’s interpretation of the honeymoon conversation. Jonathan was not only getting dates involving their own relationship wrong. He was also placing his friend’s wedding roughly five years later than it actually occurred. “So it’s not just me,” Jenna jokes. “He’s just an idiot.”
While Jenna joked about the situation, some commenters interpreted Jonathan’s mistakes more seriously. “Everything you mentioned is a medical red flag. He needs to see a doctor,” one commenter wrote. “Please please get him a neurological evaluation,” another said. Others suggested the Clock Drawing Test, with one commenter writing, “Have your husband draw a clock.”
Those concerns are only speculation from commenters. Jenna’s video does not explain why Jonathan got the dates wrong or suggest that there is a medical reason behind it. It only shows that the honeymoon was not the only event he remembered as happening in a different year. That second mistake changed how Jenna viewed the first one.
