Florida woman catches man yelling at his wife in Target. So she gives him a taste of his own medicine: ‘She laughed; he didn’t’
There are two things you shouldn’t lose your temper over in Target: throw pillows and your spouse. Unfortunately for one man, he chose the latter and got publicly humbled in the makeup aisle.
In a viral TikTok, this bystander decided she wasn’t going to ignore a husband loudly berating his wife. Instead, she served up a perfectly timed roast about his receding hairline that landed exactly where it needed to: with the wife laughing… and him, very much not.
What Happened at Target?
In a new episode of “wishing to be a fly on the wall,” Chloe (@mamachloe__) has people applauding one of her specific quips. The clip currently has 1.6 million views and almost 2,000 comments. It’s short and straight to the point, just like her comment.
Chloe starts by saying she just yelled at a man in Target because he was yelling at his wife. She doesn’t divulge what he was saying or what they were fighting about. Her comment to him, though? “Your wife’s gonna leave you just like your [expletive] hair did if you keep talking to her like that.”
It seems the reactions were a mixed bag. Chloe claims that the wife laughed, while the husband very much did not. Either way, Chloe says she hopes that she “put a little pep” in the man’s step after that. In the caption, she says, “I like to call these types of conversations inspirational.”
In an email to the Mary Sue, Chloe says she assumed the pair were husband and wife, as she caught him “nagging” the woman.
“He was nagging at her in the makeup section in target about how much she was spending and him fronting the bill ‘of course’ and I overheard her tell him that she should have left him in the car,” Chloe shares. “So that’s when I made my, ‘you better be nice to her or she’s going to leave you just like your hair did’ comment.”
Chloe adds, “Hopefully, he let her spend some extra money after.”

Viewers Can’t Help but Laugh
Chloe’s comments section seems quite homogeneous, with countless viewers cracking up over the situation. One viewer says, “I would have CACKLED from the next aisle over.”
A second shares, “The way I just giggled out loud instantly after ‘like your hair did.'”
Many commend her for sticking up for the wife. “We love a girls girl,” says one viewer.
Another asks, “Can we normalize this please? Checking people in public? Thanks for doing you girl!!”
Some hope a lesson was learned here. One viewer notes, “May he always remember this.” While another says, “She will literally never forget that. You rock for that.”
Interestingly, one viewer offers a different perspective. They share, “Sometimes we argue in public because we’re bored.” Chloe then replies, “Me and my husband talk to each other all kinds of sideways because it’s our personalities…people probably think we’re horrible tho.”
