Woman says Victoria’s Secret managers gave her impossible instructions. They screamed at her over 10-second bathroom break and she finally had enough

Starting a new job usually comes with a learning curve. New employees need time to learn where things are, how the store operates, and what managers expect from them.
That becomes much harder when the rules are not explained first. Being corrected for a mistake is one thing, but being criticized for something you say you were never taught can quickly make a new job difficult.
TikTok creator Jamie Nicole (@thejamieedit) says that was her experience during a short-lived summer job at Victoria’s Secret. She says she lasted only two weeks at the retailer, but the experience “felt like three years because it was horrible.”
Things went downhill quickly
Jamie says she was initially excited about the job because she had previously worked as a barista and wanted to try something different. Her first one or two shifts consisted mostly of training on an iPad before she received about two shifts of hands-on training on the sales floor.
But the training was not enough for her to learn the store. The location combined Victoria’s Secret and Pink, and by the end of her training, Jamie still did not know where everything was. She also claims one of her managers began criticizing her frequently.
Jamie hoped things would improve as she learned the job, but the criticism continued. In one incident, she walked a customer to the back of the store to find a bra. When she returned, her manager allegedly became angry because she had left her assigned room. According to Jamie, no one had told her she could not leave, and her headset was broken.
“I keep getting told what to do with zero instructions on how to do it,” Jamie says. During another shift, coworkers were allegedly sent on breaks while she continued working. She eventually learned it was around 5:30, despite claiming her shift should have ended around 2 or 2:30, and she had not received a break. When she raised it with her manager, she says she was told, “You should have said something.”
She says her allergies caused her nose to run while she was at the register. She stepped into the bathroom to blow her nose and claims that about 10 seconds later, her manager began yelling over the headset. “Where are you? Why aren’t you on register?” Jamie recalls the manager saying. When she returned, the manager allegedly criticized her over a perfume sensor she did not know needed to be removed.
Afterward, Jamie went to the bathroom and cried. “At this point I knew that I was literally never going to come work here again,” she says. For Jamie, the problems with management had become enough to quit the job. After the shift, she says she returned to her old Starbucks job and did not go back to Victoria’s Secret. She adds that she believes the experience may have been specific to her location.
Some viewers said they could relate. “Bad Management makes retail so much harder than it needs to be,” one commenter wrote. Another former worker said, “I worked for VS for one day and I walked out mid shift lol.” Concerns about employee training at Victoria’s Secret have also been raised by customers.
Jamie’s account is based on her own experience and has not been independently verified. The video does not identify the specific Victoria’s Secret location or the managers involved. Victoria’s Secret has not publicly responded to Jamie’s claims.
