Woman Notices a Girl Cut in Line at a Gold Coast Theme Park. She Ended Up Parenting Her: ‘We Don’t Let People Push in Front of Us’
The mother allegedly did not care about the people in line.
Children mirror the adults in their lives, and Dani (@thisisdagnyspeaking) on TikTok recalled a recent experience at a Gold Coast theme park in Australia with an unattended girl. Instead of waiting her turn and lining up at the end of the queue, the girl allegedly cut in front of Dani and her child.
“If you’re wondering sometimes, ‘Why do these kids suck so much?’ Well, I’ll tell you, it’s because their parents suck,” Dani prefaced her story on TikTok. She and her four-year-old son were lined up for a car ride. Dani said a girl, who looked to be six or seven, walked right past them and cut in line. Although she was irked by the behavior, Dani said she chose not to say anything and gave the girl time to consider her actions.
“Sweetheart, where’s your mommy or your daddy?” Dani asked, noticing that the girl was unaccompanied. She said there were at least ten or fifteen people queued behind them, and she assumed that if the parents saw their daughter cut in line, they would call her behavior out. The girl then pointed to her mother, who was at the back of the line.
“I give the mom a nod. Nothing happens,” Dani alleged. She tried indicating that the woman’s daughter had cut in line. Nevertheless, Dani decided not to act yet because the queue was not moving. She thought that once the line moved and the ride opened up, the girl would go back to her mom without any issues. Although falling in line for rides is a general rule for theme parks, some offer perks for neurodivergent children. One man who went to Disney World only found out too late that his neurodivergent kids never had to wait in line.
Parenting a random girl at the theme park
But Dani did not mention the girl having park privileges or fast passes that would expedite her queueing time. Regardless, Dani claimed that the moment the ride opened, the girl was ready to jostle herself in front of her and her son. Dani stopped the girl and got down on her level.
“Sweetheart, we’re going to have so much fun today. It’s going to be great. But I need to let you know that I’m not going to let you push in front of my son and I,” Dani told the girl. After which, she alleged the girl started sulking, looking unhappy for being called out by her.
“I want to set an example for my son. We don’t let people push in front of us. We don’t disrespect others,” she added. After calling the girl out, Dani made the girl fall in line behind her. The line moved to the next phase, and yet, Dani alleged that the mother still made no move to correct her child. Dani said that the mother would later move to her child, but not to take her to the back of the queue. Instead, Dani alleged that the second the ride gates opened, the mother took her daughter and pushed in front of everyone else to get ahead in the line.
A message to the girl’s mother
“What is wrong with these kids? It’s because they’re exactly like their parents,” Dani concluded. She said she would never let her children cut in line in front of other people and does not tolerate their bad behavior. Regardless, Dani said others in the queue commended her for calling the girl out. She also left a message for the girl’s mother on her video.
“I just want you to know that you are setting your child up for failure. You are not teaching her to be a good person, or a good citizen, or to be courteous to others,” Dani said. While some parents fail to keep their kids in line, others like this mother went to another extreme by smashing her son’s $600 gaming console.
