Where to Watch ‘Spy x Family’ and How Many Episodes Are There?

Spies! Assassins! Cute kids!

If you’ve brushed past any of the hype around the 2022 spring anime season, chances are you’ve heard whispers about Spy x Family. The anime adaptation of Tatsuya Endo’s comedic twist on the spy genre has been highly anticipated, as the manga’s increasing fanbase has blossomed ever outward. Even with just one episode in the books, multiple outlets were praising the series as a must-see for the entire year.

Spy x Family is a rare collaboration between two highly-lauded anime studios: Wit Studio (Ranking of Kings, first three seasons of Attack on Titan) and CloverWorks (My Dress-Up Darling, The Promised Neverland). The series centers around the Forger family, who are stuck in a Cold War-type era with a very particular dynamic: the husband is a spy, the wife is an assassin, and the daughter can read minds. Save for the poor daughter, no one knows anything about the others, of course.

Where can you watch Spy x Family?

Spy x Family is streamable on Crunchyroll. New episodes will release weekly on Saturdays at 8:30 AM PT / 11:30 AM ET. The series—or at least the first season, as the manga is ongoing—will run for 25 episodes total. The first 12 will air at the start of the spring 2022 season. Spy x Family will then take a break in the summer before returning for the last 13 episodes in fall of 2022.

Tatsuya Endo’s manga has been running on Shounen Jump+ since 2019 and is widely praised. There are presently over 60 chapters of the manga, collected in nine tankoubon volumes. Don’t worry, we won’t start wondering what that means for season two yet.
