A bride’s wedding day took a frustrating turn when her photographer arrived two hours late and left early. After she received the photos three months later, the entire ordeal had her questioning whether the photographer was just unprofessional or an outright scammer. The bride, Emily Lytton (@emily.lytton7), who is from Florida, shared the story and photos on TikTok.

“You pay 2k on a wedding photographer. It takes three months to get your photos back. This is what they send you,” the video’s caption read.

Bride disappointed with wedding day pictures

In the photos, the bride and groom appear to be standing in front of a plain white wall. The photographer zoomed in on the pair’s faces in each shot. In one, the bride can be seen with her hands placed on her temples as she looks into a mirror.

“WHAT IS THIS?” a caption on the picture read.

In another picture, the bride is standing behind the groom.

“Why am I LURKING BRO?” another caption asked.

To make matters worse, Emily alleges that she only received 200 photos from her big day, three months after the wedding had happened. After expressing dissatisfaction with the pictures, the woman claimed she asked for a partial refund, which resulted in her getting removed from Instagram by the photographer.

“Do you think I got scammed?” she asked her viewers in the clip’s caption.

Average cost of wedding photography

According to a survey conducted by TheKnot.com, which surveyed nearly 17,000 newlyweds who tied the knot in 2025, the average price for a wedding photographer is $2,900. The location of the wedding can also significantly impact the cost of a photographer.

The survey found that couples who got married in the Southwest spent the least on wedding day photos and those who tied the knot in the Mid- Atlantic spent the most. The range for the cost of the service was also significant: between $2,649- $3,574. The cost of a wedding photographer is one of the most expensive and popular wedding-day services.

@emily.lytton7 Never thought I’d publicly post my wedding photos. Oh also not to mention the photographer was 2 hours late and left an hour early. Also they only sent 200 photos. Oh also after I asked for a partial refund they removed me on Instagram. Do you think I got scammed????? #scam #nightmare #wedding #weddingphotographer #money ♬ original sound – Emily Lytton

Viewers are appalled

In the video’s comments section, many agreed that the quality of the photos did not match the cost.

“2K IS NOT “CHEAP”. THIS IS NOT 2K QUALITY. THIS IS LITERALLY $150 QUALITY,” user Catherine wrote.

“Honestly tag the photographer and let them explain because,” user honnshot | photographer commented.

Others argued that they could produce better quality photos with a cellphone camera.

“Not to be dramatic but I could do better with an iphone,” user Riah commented.

“Did you get married in a JCPenney?” user Alli wrote in a comment that received over 20,000 likes.

Many left comments with examples of photos they received from their wedding day photos that they argued looked significantly better.

In part two of the video, Emily posted photos from the wedding day taken by her friends and family with iPhones or a film camera.

Emily also said that she accepted an offer from the company to redo the photos.
