Sometimes we worry about Martin Freeman. The characters he plays are often uptight and kind of just… wound up, don’t you think? Well, if this music video for Paul Weller’s “Pick it Up” provides any indication, he’s at least got some outlet in the roles he’s … picking up. Sorry. Couldn’t resist.

But the video’s actually quite interesting and worth a watch. “Modfather” Paul Weller’s “Pick it Up” has a great, chill, almost Jamiroquai-like vibe that feels just a bit more downbeat. The song contrasts well with what’s going on in the video as it’s a very intriguing series of jumps in timeline from before/after Freeman does his, uh … thing to the apartment.

Anyway, having watched this video and gawked at Freeman a few times, does anyone have a sudden craving for cake?
