Virginia woman’s ‘red flag’ date disses her work, then says he’s never finished a book: ‘I gasped at the leather seats comment’

In today’s world, dating is much harder than it used to be, to the point where many people prefer to stay single rather than even try to date someone, let alone be with them. If you’re in the dating scene, you know this is true, or if your friends are, you’ve probably heard about it. No matter what, it’s clear that dating is challenging, and based on how things look right now, there’s not much anyone can do to change that.

TikTok user @alltheradreads has a story about her “red flag” date

As mentioned earlier, three days ago, @alltheradreads uploaded a video to her TikTok account where she discussed going on a date with a man who, in her opinion, was the biggest red flag she had encountered. In the video, she mentioned that they had been messaging on Hinge before meeting and that their conversations weren’t very deep or detailed.

@alltheradreads and her date’s outing was supposed to be normal, but right from the start, he arrived 10-15 minutes late, even though he was the one asking Rachel for updates about her location and departure time. Anyway, after he arrived, they went to an ice cream shop where they had prearranged to meet. When Rachel mentioned she was glad they chose that place because it had dairy-free options and she was vegan, her date appeared to take offense, asked her to guess where he was from, and then said he was from Alabama. Rachel says in the video that she thought from his mocking tone that he might be from a place where they eat a lot of meat, though she’s not sure.

After finishing their ice cream, @alltheradreads says they started taking a walk, and at one point, the topic of social media came up. Her date dismissed her profession by saying that even a 12-year-old could do her job. When Rachel revealed that she reads and reviews books, he said he wasn’t into books and had never finished a book in his life. For @alltheradreads, that was a bit too much to handle. But that was just the beginning. Moments later, he asked her to guess the type of car he brought, and when she failed to guess it was an Aston Martin, he acted strangely. The worst part was when she sat in the car, and he told her to empty her pockets so her “fat ass” wouldn’t ruin the leather seats. Several other incidents before and after this confirmed to Rachel that she didn’t want to keep seeing him.

Talking about the disastrous date, Rachel says that dating feels like “hell” and that she’s just looking for a decent person to hang out with, especially someone who reads or at least has finished one book.
