For those of us who love Dungeons & Dragons, Delver might be the comic for you. The five-part series debuted to critical acclaim, and now we’ve got an exclusive look at the second issue for you!

Delver follows a young teen from a small village who must navigate the new world around her; we learn more about this world through her thoughts and actions, which also provide a lens for social issues. In this issue, our heroine Merit meets a stranger in the village, one who takes an interest in her and begins to train her in self-defense.

Newsarama gave the series 9 out of 10 stars, writing, “Trotman and Reed deliver a clever, thoughtful script, and artist Clive Hawken and colorist Maarta Laiho do a stellar job bringing the world they’ve created to life. … If you’re a fan of actual play podcasts and streams, then you’ll likely enjoy Delver #1.” The AV Club also called the series “a beautiful read.”
