‘This is Trump’s shutdown’: Donald Trump finally gets what he wants after throwing a tantrum and getting the government involved

“Go big or go home”, an idiom Donald Trump has been embracing since becoming President of the United States for a second term in 2025, has sent everything to a toss.

The latest to fall victim to this belief is none other than the government itself, the one he represents. After refusing to agree to the Democrats’ proposed terms for a short-term funding bill related to healthcare and federal spending, the government went into a temporary shutdown on September 30, 2025, due to a lack of consensus on the bill.

Since its implementation, Donald Trump has been keeping a low profile. He is probably hiding somewhere in the White House, generating derogatory AI-modified videos of Democrats or immigrants, the two factions he seems to hate the most. He might also be planning his next move, which may or may not involve him throwing another fit, causing harm to many. This one seems to have worked somehow. While he does all of that, people are not keeping quiet and calling it what it is: a government shutdown caused by Trump.

On popular social media platform (previously known as Twitter), people, while noting the repercussions of the shutdown, are poking fun at Trump. In a video from some time ago, President Trump could be seen highlighting the effects of a shutdown, noting that it would leave a negative mark on the President’s image. The same is being broadly shared on the platform, resulting in Trump being called a hypocrite. A user on the platform, while sharing the video wrote pointed out how there were no shutdowns during Biden’s rule but there were two under Trump’s. He said:

“There were ZERO government shutdowns while President Biden was in office. There were TWO during Trump’s first time in office. He SUCKS as a leader. This is Trump’s shutdown.”

As conversations about Trump’s double-facedness gain momentum, many believe that the supreme leader will address them. If he does, however, it won’t be on X but Truth Social, which has become Trump’s platform of choice for expressing his most obnoxious thoughts.
