Things We Saw Today: Man Kicked Out of a Bar for Wearing a MAGA Hat Tried to Claim Trump Is His Religion

The judge didn't agree.

A man was thrown out of a New York City bar recently for refusing to remove his “Make America Great Again” hat. The guy decided to sue for discrimination, but political beliefs aren’t upheld as a basis in this kind of case, so the man claimed that Trump was his religion. Specifically, that he was “paying tribute to the victims of 9/11,” and that Trump is somehow part of the “spiritual belief” associated with that. The judge wasn’t having it and found in favor of the bar.

And for every Twitter troll (and my lord, there are a lot) feigning disgust, shouting “*COUGH* *SCOFF* So I have to make a cake for people that violate my religious beliefs but this guy can’t even wear a hat,” the rest of us non-assholes answer: Yes. That’s exactly right. (via Twitter)
