‘The United States needs to behave with honor’: Tucker Carlson Rebukes The Bombing of an Iranian School

Conservative broadcaster Tucker Carlson aired his thoughts on the latest developments of the Iran War. Despite his consistent support for the Trump administration, Tucker Carlson expressed his concern over the bombing of a school in Minab.

“This is a war designed to usher in the new age of man, a new period in history, a new world. Wars like that are fundamentally theological in nature,” Carlson said. Thus, he believes that the Iran War will not end quickly, even if it is not officially declared a ‘war.’

He believes people should start praying, among other things. But he also adds, “Keep an eye on the effect of this war on us, the United States.”

“No matter what side you’re on, the United States needs to behave with honor,” Carlson warns. He believes that House Democrats, Republicans, and other groups are in support of the attack on Iran.

“But why is that? Because that’s the whole point of being the United States.”

Carlson explains the fundamental reason wars are justified. “You can’t have wars unless you believe that you are, on the deepest level, better than the people you’re fighting,” he says. The broadcaster added that the population must be convinced that they are better than their opponents. But before a country can convince its people that they’re in the right, it must show that it is fair and upright.

“You have to behave with honor,” Carlson says.

The girls’ school bombing must be investigated

“And so, for example, if innocents are killed—girls at a school, to name a current example—you have to believe that it’s accidental, and you have to say out loud that it’s wrong.” Carlson is asking for accountability regarding the US strikes on the girls’ school. The strike killed more than 170 people, mostly children.

“In my opinion, based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran,” Trump said of the attack. A report by Reuters suggests otherwise.

“And in this specific case, the bombing of a girls’ school next to an Iranian naval base that was apparently the school of choice of officers at the naval base. These were the children, the daughters of the people we’re fighting. You have to believe that was accidental,” Carlson said. But he also emphasized that the school was bombed forty minutes apart, twice. He even says that it looks “very much like a double tap.”

“Because if you wake up one morning, and you’re living in the kind of country that thinks it’s okay to kill not simply military officers, but their daughters? That’s not a country that’s worth fighting for.”

Although he showed disappointment in the bombing, Carlson believes that the incident is a tragic mistake by America. Nevertheless, he expressed that it’s important to investigate and to see if autonomous weapons are involved.

Carlson is among the MAGA conservatives that decided to oppose Trump’s war.

No Moral Ascendancy Left

The justification behind Trump’s war on Iran has been difficult to sell, precisely because the reasoning behind it is lackluster. First, it was about stopping Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Then, the reports claiming that Iran already agreed to zero stockpiling arrived. The objective quickly became about regime change so that Iran becomes more open to Western trade and influence. In this case, Trump successfully replaced Khamenei with his younger, allegedly hardline son.

It would be the height of hypocrisy to call Iran’s leadership a “rogue terrorist regime,” as Trump’s press secretary often would, while killing civilians that the administration claims it’s trying to ‘liberate.’

Because are Americans supposed to be convinced that dropping bombs leads to long-lasting peace and liberty for Iranians and not radicalization? For Americans who are against Trump’s siege of Iran, the ends are not justified—and the administration’s disregard for rules and decency adds to the war’s unpopularity.
