Earlier this week we showed you some images from the Guillermo del Toro-produced Day of the Dead animated film The Book of Life, and now we have the first trailer. Are those of you who worried that this would be all about Diego Luna and Channing Tatum fighting over a Zoe Saldana put at ease at all? For myself, I have to say this film looks amazing, and I’m really excited. Hit the jump for a poster.

In addition to Luna, Saldana, and Tatum, The Book of Life calls upon the vocal talents of Danny Trejo, Christina Applegate, Plácido Domingo, Hector Elizondo, Cheech Marin, Ice Cube, and (wait for it) del Toro BFF Ron Perlman. At the helm is first-time director Jorge R. Gutierrez, co-creator of Nickelodeon’s El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera.
