Things We Saw Today: Thanos Creator Jim Starlin Gives Avengers: Endgame Two Infinity Gauntlets Up
Plus Brie Larson, Tiffany Haddish, and more!
While we wait for everyone’s Avengers: Endgame reactions to roll in, Jim Starlin has weighed in with his thoughts. Starlin ‘s opinion carries a lot of weight: this is, after all, the man who created Thanos himself. In addition, Starlin has created several important Marvel characters throughout his storied career, including Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, and Shang-Chi.
The man behind the infinity gauntlet gave the film a glowing review, saying “I loved the movie. I thought it was better than Infinity War, actually. It’s much more spectacular and much more of an emotional roller coaster and that’s saying something on the latter part, especially after Gamora’s demise [in Infinity War.]”
Starlin continued, saying he enjoyed the journey of Thanos from end credits scene stealer to main antagonist. “In many ways, his on-screen time was very much like that in the comics in that he was kind of inactive to begin with and became more active as he progressed along. I thought that was in staying with the original. Like I’ve said, only an idiot figures that someone will adapt a multi-million dollar movie into exactly what they put down on paper.”
Starlin gave a shoutout to the production team on Facebook, where he revealed that he makes a cameo in the film as a member of Cap’s support group:
My film debut. Had a great time with some terrific folks, like Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the script…
