Last weekend Telltale Games released an inexplicable teaser trailer for an upcoming project, that primarily featured the above image, calculated to create one specific response in the viewer:

What the heck kind of game is going to have Tycho from Penny Arcade, Max from Sam & Max, Strongbad, and the Heavy from Team Fortress 2 in it?

Today, we have an answer: A poker game.

Poker Night at the Inventory is already available for pre-order from Telltale Games ($5, or £3 if you order from UK Steam), and is described thusly:

Prepare for a different kind of poker night in a very different kind of club. In Poker Night at the Inventory, you’ll deal with Penny Arcade’s clever, cunning Tycho, Team Fortress 2’s hulking Heavy, Homestar Runner’s self-proclaimed “awesome icon” Strong Bad and the hyperkinetic “rabbity-thing” from Sam & Max. These characters come together in ways some never thought possible, in a setting few would have predicted. You’ll experience a new style of poker, particularly when hands don’t go the way of the other fiery competitors at the table.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun even has a few screens, like this one:

There is no release date for the commencement of this high stakes game, but Telltale promises it will be out this “fall.”
