For any of you who are traveling to Japan this May, don’t forget to stop by one of fashion designer Anna Sui’s pop-up stores. There are some really unique purses, wallets, and pouches that you’ll want to see.

Sui’s six pop-ups will feature items inspird by manga creators including: Akiki Higashimura (Princess Jellyfish), Ryoko Ikeda (The Rose of Versailles), Mineo Maya (Patalliro!), Rumiko Takahashi (Urusei Yatasura), and Osamu Tezuka (Princess Knight, Unico). You’ll recognize some familiar characters like Lady  Oscar and Tsukimi.

While the pricing is still unknown, at least you know they’ll be available in these locations:

Shinjuku branch of Isetan in Tokyo from May 6-10

Laforet Harajuku in Tokyo, May 15-28

Nihonbashi Nitsukoshi in Tokyo, May 20-26

Nagoya Parco, May 20-31

Osaka Lucua, May 20-June 2

Hikarie complex, Shibuya, in Tokyo, May 28-June 10

How do you feel about the selection of manga Sui chose for her designs? Are these bags cute or a bit too fashion-y for you? What do you think?
