Stranger Compliments Vancouver Woman’s Cheap Flip-Flops, Then Almost Tricks Her Into Shooting Unsolicited Feet Pics: ‘What the Freak’

Intrusive approaches from strangers while you’re walking through the city with headphones on has to be one of most annoying experiences. And if the stranger interrupts your peace to say something bizarre or uncomfortable? Yeah we’re never taking that route again.
For Vancouver-based TikTok creator Lexi Hill (@lexiihilll), a routine sidewalk stroll took a similarly strange turn. According to her, an overly persistent man tried to turn her everyday footwear into an impromptu feet photoshoot.
In a TikTok video sitting at over 4,500 views, Hill broke down the creepy encounter that sent her power-walking to safety. She initially thought the man just gave her an odd compliment about her summer sandals. However, she soon realized it was a sneaky attempt to solicit unsolicited feet pictures in broad daylight.
Hill faced an aggressive approach disguised as innocent curiosity about her flip flops
The alleged incident occurred while Hill was walking down the street with her headphones in, minding her own business. Out of nowhere, a man reportedly charged up behind her, aggressively shouting to get her attention. Hill then pulled out an earbud to see what was wrong.
Startled by the intense approach, Hill listened as the man allegedly showered praise on her basic black Havaianas. She thanked him, but the man reportedly demanded to know where she purchased them. To this, Hill politely explained that she had bought them in Bali.
The stranger allegedly feigned curiosity about Bali’s location, before making a suspicious request. According to Hill, he asked if he could snap a quick photo of the sandals on his phone to send to a “friend” who was looking for a similar pair.
“At first, I was fully gonna take the flip-flop off and let him take a photo, and I went, ‘Wait a f***ing second. Do you want a feet pic?!'”

Hill saw through the alleged facade and realized that the stranger had zero interest in her rubber flip-flops. According to her, she would have provided him with free foot content had she slipped her shoe off or stood still for a photo. “He just wanted a foot pic in the flesh… what the freak!” she sighed.
To escape the situation, Hill blurted out that she was running late and immediately bolted down the sidewalk as the man shouted after her. Holding up her standard, sparkly black sandal to the camera later in the video, Hill laughed in disbelief at the sheer audacity of the alleged scheme. She pointed out how ridiculous the cover story was for such a common shoe.
Reflecting on how close she came to falling for the trap, Hill emphasized how fast her survival instincts kicked in once she realized the true motive behind the request. Logically, no grown man would ask for a close-up photo of mass-produced rubber sandals to show a friend.
If an aggressive stranger stops you on the street to photograph your open-toed shoes, skip the polite small talk and keep walking. Remember, tricking anyone into unwittingly participating in a fetish without their knowledge is a blatant violation of basic personal boundaries. In fact, clicking any picture of someone without their consent is also a boundary violation.
