Sir Patrick Stewart and More Familiar Faces Take the Shakespeare Insult Challenge

Shakespeare nerds and general nerds unite!

Shakespeare nerds! (And other nerds!) Are you looking for an outlet for all the pent up old-timey insults you’ve got floating around in your brain just waiting to be hurled? Well stop just biting your thumb at people and do something about it! (Or Patrick Stewart himself says you’re an ingrate and cankered louse, and who are we to disagree?)

While you’re at it, you can help out some of your nerd heroes as they valiantly quest for a new home for the Antaeus Theatre Company on Kickstarter to help keep live theatre … well, alive.

The company features some members you might be familiar with, including:

  • Armin Shimerman (Star Trek: Deep Space 9 – Quark. Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Principal Snyder.)
  • Linda Park (Star Trek: Enterprise – Lt. Hoshi Sato. Crash. Women’s Murder Club.)
  • Harry Groener (Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Major Richard Wilkins. How I Met Your Mother. Multiple Tony Nominee.)
  • Tony Amendola (Continuum. Once Upon A Time – Geppetto. Stargate SG1.)
  • Gregory Itzin (24 – President Logan. Mob City.)
  • Mike McShane (Whose Line is it Anyway? Wayward Pines. Master improv teacher)
  • Kurtwood Smith (Agent Carter – Vernon Masters. That 70s Show – Red Forman)
  • Gregg Daniel (True Blood. General Hospital.)
  • Arye Gross (Minority Report. Castle. Ellen.)
  • Raphael Sbarge (Once Upon a Time. Murder in the First. 24.)
  • Lawrence Pressman (Transparent. Hart of Dixie. Doogie Howser M.D. – Dr. Benjamin Canfield)

If you need some inspiration for your own Shakespearean insults, there’s plenty to draw from:

Dan is many things, including a game developer, animator, martial artist, and at least semi-professional pancake chef. He lives in North Carolina with Lisa Brown (his wife) and Liz Lemon (his dog), both of whom are the best, and he will never stop reminding The Last Jedi's detractors that Luke Skywalker's pivotal moment in Return of the Jedi was literally throwing his lightsaber away and refusing to fight.
