Not sold on the name yet, but I'm listening.

Deadline is reporting that perpetual bad-ass Rutina Wesley has joined the cast of ABC’s upcoming ’70s cop show, Broad Squad (a rad project, but damn if that name isn’t almost on par with Ghostbustierettes or The Expendabelles).

According to Deadline, Broad Squad will be “a fictionalized account of the graduating class of Boston’s first female patrol officers in 1978,” and will also star Charlotte Spencer (Dark Shadows), and Cody Horn (Magic Mike).

I was a huge fan of Wesley’s work as Tara on True Blood (even if I didn’t always love the way her character was written), so I’m stoked to see what the show has in store. Thoughts?
