In the meantime, enjoy the html version below. I guess. If that's your thing.
Adventures of Supergirl #3 w: Sterling Gates a: Bengal p: DC Comics For the Supergirl fans who prefer their comics a little more tangible, DC Comics has been releasing the digital first Adventures of Supergirl, which is based on the TV show universe, in paper form, collecting the shorter individual web stories into longer issues. In this latest issue, Kara has just defeated a villainous, alien super-hacker...only to have to deal with zombies. Grreat... Black Canary #12 w: Brendan Fletcher a: Annie Wu p: DC Comics Dinah's tour with her rock band is coming to an end in this issue, and Black Canary might be coming to an end as well, since it's on the rumored cancellation list at DC. This short run of solo Black Canary has been a rockin' ride, and it's a shame to see it go. Lumberjanes Gotham Academy #1 w: Chynna Clugston-Flores a: Rosemary Valero-O'Connell p: BOOM! Studios At last, it's the crossover you didn't know you needed in your life. Somehow, Clugston-Flores was able to masterfully merge these two much-beloved series into a miniseries that's equal parts fun, exciting, and mysterious. This first issue perfectly sets up a fun mystery while still giving each group of characters enough time in the limelight. No small task, to be sure, but it just works here, and this is a comic you shouldn't miss for anything. Captain Marvel: Earth's Mightiest Hero Vol. 1 w: Kelly Sue Deconnick, Christopher Sebela a: Dexter Soy, Emma Rios, Filipe Andrade p: Marvel Comics If you haven't been reading any of the Captain Marvel run since 2012, and you want to get all caught up on the cheap, this new compounded volume combines issues 1-12. It's a combination of the original Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 trade paperbacks, all in one big book. Goldie Vance #3 w: Hope Larson a: Brittney Williams p: BOOM! Studios This is the penultimate issue in the four issue series that marks Goldie Vance's auspicious beginnings. The series has since been given the nod to become an ongoing series, and really, all it takes is one issue for you to find out just why that is. Goldie Vance has got heart, and tons of it. We might say this a lot, but you really would be doing yourself a disservice to miss out on this charming-as-all-get-out series. Sherlock: A Study in Pink #1 w: Steven Moffat a: Jay p: Titan Comics Sherlock fans who happen to also be manga fans have reason to rejoice this week! The Japanese manga version of the episode "A Study in Pink" has been translated and will be sold in the US and the UK for the first time! It begins here! The Wicked + The Divine #20 w: Kieron Gillen a: Jamie McKelvie p: Image Comics Heck, it's The Wicked + The Divine. If you need to know more, here you go: this latest story arc has featured the comeback of one fan favorite character, who's sudden resurrection has kind of thrown a monkey wrench in everything that's going on with the Pantheon. Gillen's been naming each of these issues after the different parts of a story, and this issue's called "Rising Action," so you just know it's going to be exciting. Star Wars: Poe Dameron #3 w: Charles Soule a: Phil Noto p: Marvel Comics The longer this series goes on, the more deeply we fall in love - not just with Poe himself, but with his entire team. Watching them know each other so well and work as a unit is awesome, and they're really going to need to be there for each other now. The First Order has caught up to them, and they're stuck underground with a hatching super-egg! Wonder Woman: Rebirth #1 w: Greg Rucka a: Paulo Siqueira, Liam Sharp p: DC Comics If you didn't like Wonder Woman's previous creative team, you'll be pleased to learn that Rebirth is bringing back Greg Rucka, who wrote several great Wonder Woman arcs in the mid-2000s. His new Rebirth arc will “forever alter the DC icon,” apparently, which may or may not be a good thing. Let's find out, shall we?
