Pregnant Tennessee Woman Says a Stranger Approached Her in a Target Parking Lot. Then Reached Into a Bag and Said ‘Here You Go’
A commenter recognized the package: 'Small world!"

A pregnant Tennessee woman said a surprising encounter in a Target parking lot left her emotional after a stranger asked whether she was expecting a boy or a girl, then reached into her bag and handed her a gift. TikTok creator Tera Kaminski (@terakaminski1) shared the moment in a video. Kaminski said she was approached by a woman while leaving Target, who noticed her pregnancy and started a casual conversation.
According to Kaminski, the woman asked, “Excuse me, are you having a boy or a girl?” Kaminski replied that she was having a girl, expecting the interaction to end as a simple friendly exchange between strangers. Instead, the woman reached into her bag and said, “OK, here you go,” before handing Kaminski a wrapped item.
Kaminski admitted she felt unsure about opening the package at first. “I don’t know what it is. Why am I kind of scared to open it?” she said in the video.

When she finally opened the gift, Kaminski discovered a small baby towel along with a handwritten message featuring a Bible verse. “Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created,” the note said. It also included a message about praying for God’s will for her family, along with a reference to John 3:16.
One viewer said the interaction was familiar, explaining that a family member recognized the wrapping and scripture message. “My sister used to work with the lady that does this!! She gave me one when I was pregnant with my little one. I recognize the paper with scripture. Small world!” the commenter wrote.
Kaminski responded with surprise and gratitude. “Wait that’s crazy! Such a small world! She absolutely made my day,” Kaminski wrote.
The video sparked a mix of reactions from viewers. While many people praised the stranger’s kindness, others said they would be more cautious about accepting an item from someone they did not know. “As much as I would want to trust it and hope she means well… it’s 2026 and I would have for sure not opened or kept it,” one commenter wrote.
John 3:16 is one of the best-known verses in the Bible’s New Testament. The verse, from the Gospel of John, describes God’s love and the belief among Christians that God gave his only Son so believers could receive eternal life. The verse is frequently shared in religious messages, cards, and acts of encouragement.
Kaminski said the thoughtful gesture caught her completely off guard. “Why does this make me want to cry?” she said before revealing the baby towel. “Oh my gosh. That was so sweet of her. I cannot get over that. Like that just made my day.”
