Popeyes staff films himself contaminating raw chicken with massive farts, then customers realize what they are eating: ‘This is so gross’

Fast-food customers have to trust that what happens behind the kitchen counter follows basic hygiene rules. Most people probably do not expect an employee to film himself doing something to raw chicken that could immediately ruin their appetite.
That is why a viral Popeyes video is getting such a disgusted reaction online. It is also the kind of footage that makes questions about what ends up in Popeyes chicken considerably harder to ignore.
TikTok user @akrentscicc88 shared the allegations in a post that has drawn 2.4 million views. According to the narration, an employee at a Popeyes restaurant in Louisiana allegedly filmed himself farting on raw chicken before it was prepared for customers. The post claims some customers later realized they may have eaten the contaminated food.
What had they actually been served?
According to the viral account, the worker entered the Popeyes restaurant’s raw chicken storage area and opened a package of uncooked chicken. He allegedly sat directly on the meat and farted before taking what appeared to be the same chicken to the fryer.
The narration claims the employee subsequently cooked the chicken and served it to unsuspecting customers. However, it remains unclear whether the allegedly contaminated meat was actually prepared and sold at the restaurant.
A few days later, some customers reportedly discovered the footage online and recognized the employee as the person who had prepared their meals. The possibility that they had eaten the chicken shown in the video allegedly left them feeling disgusted and sick.
The customers reportedly brought the footage to the restaurant and contacted Popeyes corporate, demanding compensation and an investigation. The narration further alleges that Popeyes fired the employee and hired lawyers to pursue legal action against him. However, these claims have not been independently confirmed.
The allegations have raised concerns about what employees are doing inside restaurant kitchens. Customers have little way of knowing how their meals are handled before reaching the counter, making the possibility of deliberate food contamination particularly disturbing.
Viewers were disgusted by the alleged incident. “i would genuinely cry if i ever found out my chicken had fart on it,” one person wrote. Someone else commented, “That’s actually sick like generally who does this.”
Others responded with jokes. “baby that’s the secret ingredient,” one viewer commented, while someone else wrote, “Definitely a Chick fil A spy.” A third person declared, “i’m glad I don’t eat Popeyes.”
However, the narration also attracted criticism for identifying the employee as Black. Several viewers questioned why his race was mentioned when it had no apparent relevance to the alleged misconduct.
“Why did it matter if he was Black or not? Anyone can fart on chicken,” one person questioned. Another asked, “Was his race important to this story??” Someone else pointed out, “People are talking more about his race than what he actually did.”
Meanwhile, other viewers wanted to know which Popeyes location was involved. “which popeyes and is the chicken still available?” one person asked. Another summed up the disgust surrounding the allegations: “This is so gross tell me where this is so I can stay far away.”
Despite the viral attention, the restaurant’s exact location and the reported termination remain unverified. It is also unclear whether any customers actually received contaminated chicken.
