People on the internet have a lot to say about Kristi Noem allegedly getting fired by Trump, and they are all hilarious

The latest word on the street is that the United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, is being fired by Donald Trump. You might want to know why. Well, if you ask me, she shouldn’t have been appointed in the first place, but the main reason she is now being shown the door is because of her alleged affair with political advisor and her de facto chief of staff, Corey Lewandowski. Yes, the same person Noem has denied having a relationship with for years.

Last week, several news outlets reported that Donald Trump was considering removing Kristi Noem from her role as Secretary of Homeland Security. The outlets also revealed that if Trump decided to do so, it would be due to increasing complaints from people within the department, frustrated by Noem and Lewandowski’s relationship and their joint handling of the department. These concerns have caused significant worry among Trump and his advisers, leading them to seek a quick solution: removing Noem from her position. In a recent article on The Daily Beast that discusses Trump’s plans to fire Kristi Noem, a former DHS official said, “Things are f––ed. It’s horrible, they’re going to destroy this place. I’m just hoping the new secretary gets here in time.” This official, along with others acting as informants, also revealed that Trump was considering replacing her with Virginia’s current Governor, Glenn Youngkin, after Abigail Spanberger’s succession next year.

Now that the news of Trump firing Kristi Noem has spread, people have a lot to say. Discussions about the topic are especially active on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Many are shocked, believing she is just as “inept” and “unqualified” as other members of his Cabinet. Others are less surprised, feeling that it’s about time for him to fire a key official since he hasn’t done that quite as much in his second term as President of the United States. I mean, he has fired a couple of people here and there, but that doesn’t really count as they weren’t hardcore Trump supporters per se. Those in the second group also worry that if Noem is replaced, she will be replaced by someone “worse,” which could make the situation more complicated than it already is.

This news comes at a time when there is also significant speculation regarding Trump possibly firing the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kash Patel. If both of them are dismissed simultaneously, it would be a classic case of “Those who float together sink together.”
