Are There Any Songs Left?

We might simply be geeks here at The Mary Sue, but some of us are also band geeks, and to that end we are enormous music nerds. The science and math hidden in the study of music really turns our nerd crank. And this video caps it off with such a positive mathematical message: that it would be highly unlikely if there were positively no new songs to be written (skip to 6:20 for the video’s conclusions if you simply can’t stand the math).

Of course you could look at it another way: now there’s less of an excuse for being derivative.
