One of Evan Peters’ Most Iconic American Horror Story Roles Is Making a Comeback
American Horror Story 13 has already got a lot of social media users shaking in anticipation (and fear). With Ariana Grande involved, even her fans are locked in. But putting the excitement for Grande aside, a terrific character played by Evan Peters will also be making a comeback.
Evan Peters has been a consistent star in the show, but his fan-favorite performance has to be in American Horror Story: Hotel. In the fifth installment of the series, Peters played James Patrick March—the ghastly owner of the Hotel Cortez. Luring people in with his charm, once they check into his hotel, they’ll probably never check out.
James Patrick March didn’t just charm his victims—he’s also captivated the imagination of longtime fans despite his brutal ways. If they were AHS 5, they probably would have entered the hotel, too. But the bloody and murderous hotel is filled with traps and torture chambers, where March inflicts his crimes on victims with pure, sadistic glee.
Perhaps a chilling detail to James Patrick March is that he’s based off real-life serial killer H. H. Holmes. Like March, Holmes had secret rooms, trap doors, and torture chambers—the parallel is uncanny, to say the least. The only twist here, of course, is that March isn’t real and that he’s got killer charm.
Another interesting detail about Hotel Cortez is that those who’ve died in the hotel have their souls bound to it. Essentially, those who’ve died in the hotel are bound to stay there forever. To fans, that doesn’t seem like a terrible fate, especially if March can talk their ears off for an eternity.
Who’s coming back for the latest season?
Ariana Grande’s addition to the series has been met with great anticipation, even if she’s reportedly playing a minor role. Other than Grande, Alex Consani will also be joining the series for the first time. It’s unknown what the theme of her new character will be, but who couldn’t envision Consani being among the witches?
Speculations aside, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sibide, Leslie Grossman, Jessica Lange, and Emma Roberts will all be reprising their roles for the upcoming season. Nothing less is to be expected from what may be the last season of the series, but there are actors who’ve played multiple roles in the series.
Jessica Lange, for one, was Fiona in Coven and Constance Langdon in Murder House. Most believe that Lange is coming back as Constance, but it would be a bigger plot twist if Fiona is resurrected.
Where is AHS 13 set?
The setting of AHS 13 may not even be set in the Hotel Cortez because characters from other seasons with different plotlines will be present. This all suggests that this latest season may have a new location. It’s unclear how that will work, given that March’s soul is also bound to the Hotel Cortez.
No official plot has been pushed out, so it’s difficult to speculate on the setting. However, creator Ryan Murphy did confirm that the latest season will be a continuation of American Horror Story: Coven. Arguably one of the more peaceful endings in the franchise, it seems that the witches have more in store coming for them.
With characters from Hotel and Murder House thrown in the fray, fans could only imagine what other horrors Ryan Murphy has in store for all of them.
