Here’s What’s Coming to Netflix in January 2017

Prepare that binge list.

January is almost here, which means new titles are heading to Netflix. A new video was just released, showcasing what exactly is coming to the streaming service at the beginning of next year and I’m a little disappointed.

Yet again, no The Golden Girls and The Nanny anywhere on that list. Maybe I just wanna laugh with my gals and eat cheesecake without having to switch DVDs. While we’re at it, let’s get some Living Single on there, too. If you’ve never heard of it, just know that it is one of the greatest shows to ever grace television and it stars four vastly different black women: Queen Latifah, Kim Coles, Kim Fields and comic creator Erika Alexander.

With that said, there are some interesting projects coming soon. For one, I’m stoked that we’re finally getting new Degrassi: Next Class in about three weeks. Season 3 drops on January 6 and I can’t wait to find out what happened after that deadly school bus accident cliffhanger. Who do you think didn’t make it?

Netflix is also rebooting the ’70s series, One Day at a Time, starring Mackenzie Phillips. This time, the comedy centers on a three-generational Cuban family made up of a newly-divorced mom who used to be in the military, her teen daughter and tween son, and her mother who subscribes to an old-school mentality. Like Degrassi, that one also arrives on January 6.

And let’s not forget about A Series of Unfortunate Events, slated to appear on the digital platform on January 13. Neil Patrick Harris will take on the role of Count Olaf in eight, hour-long episodes. If the trailers are any indication, this will be a great show to watch.
