One couple’s argument at an Indiana Pacers game has taken over the basketball world. People just can’t get enough of this random NBA moment, and it keeps getting funnier.

In-arena cameras caught our new obsessions Grace and Michael having a spirited debate. The entire Internet needed to know what the deal was immediately. Grace emphatically asking her boyfriend, “What the f*** are you talking about?” resonated with a lot of ladies watching at home. Michael was talking about the value of a liberal arts education and it got very animated.

Once Grace discovered that she had become the main character on social media, she quickly set about clarifying the exchange. Apparently, that’s just how they get down over there. She posted, “IM CRYINGGGGG I LOVE MY BOYFRIEND THIS IS JUST HOW WE TALK!!!!!!”

Of course, it never just ends there when we’re talking about Internet memes tho. People had to find out more about these passionate Pacers fans, and they would in short order. It’s funny how one viral moment on the in-arena camera vaulted these two into the spotlight. Interviews and spots on Inside the NBA are things normal NBA fans dream about. And, all of it is down to a passionate discussion about the liberal arts. Hysterical

Grace and Michael sat down with Sports Illustrated to walk them through the conversation that led to the viral clip. This young man clearly had a lot on his mind. Michael revealed, “We were talking about the academic rigor of a liberal arts education, and essentially how it can be updated for the current economic status and job market.”

“Even saying that out loud, I can hear you yawning through the phone,” Grace joked with SI. ” … The thing is, Michael and I have been together for four years—wonderful, happy years. But that’s just what we do. We both just talk. He’s frighteningly smart. So what everyone witnessed was me listening to his well-articulated thoughts and responding with what you saw, which was ‘What the f— are you talking about?’”

She’s speaking for a lot of us. A noteworthy topic, but maybe not on the final night of the regular season in the NBA. But, if you thought things couldn’t possibly get more surreal for this couple, think again!

Inside the NBA gets in on the basketball craze

Shaquille O’Neal actually offered to buy the couple an engagement ring if Michael proposed on the show. It led to one of the smoothest side-steps I’ve ever witnessed on live television. But, Grace sounds like she’s ready to be done with all this media attention. It’s getting to be a bit much for her on social media.

“Shaq was like a creepy, horny uncle trying to embarrass his nephew, and I went along with it until the bit got embarrassing and I was like, ‘Alright chill.’”

“I’m glad my bf got to meet the people whose videos he shows me constantly, but God, I am ready to be done with sports people. I have found you generally exhausting and, forgive me for saying so, I mean this respectfully, not smart in the ways that matter to me. TO ME.”

Luckily, the Internet moves at the speed of light. But, what a strange week for this woman.
