Nancy Drew Coming to Life in Her Own Police Procedural

Recommended Videos

Get this: CBS and the writers of Grey’s Anatomy have started a brand new project. They’re taking the prolific, beloved set of mystery novels, Nancy Drew, and they’re bringing them into modern times. Oh, and they’re aging Nancy Drew about 20 years. Neat, huh?

According to Flavorwire, Nancy will be a 30-something NYPD detective who “investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills,” while she struggles with “navigating the complexities of life in a modern world.” Uh… okay. While this initial description sounds (let’s be honest) pretty bland, fans of the classic books have something to look forward to: playing around in Nancy Drew’s world (that isn’t the 2007 adaptation).

This won’t be the first time Nancy Drew’s seen the small screen, either. She’s been brought to life three times before on previous television shows, with the longest running one going from 1977-79. Of course, partway through that show, she was dropped as a character as the show pivoted to focus more on the Hardy Boys, who were sharing the screen with her.

What do you think? Have you got high hopes for this one, fans?
