‘More of this, please’: Barack Obama takes sharp digs at Trump, calls him out for spending money on lavishness as thousands of Americans struggle

You know times are tough when even Barack Obama has to emerge from his deep slumber to say a few words about someone he isn’t particularly fond of. On November 2, people worldwide watched with confusion and curiosity as Obama addressed a campaign rally in Norfolk, Virginia, in support of Abigail Spanberger, the Democratic nominee for governor of Virginia. While his speech primarily focused on endorsing Spanberger, he also took significant time to highlight Donald Trump’s troubling actions over the past few months, which have caused great distress among Americans.

Taking the podium, the former U.S. president accused Republicans of not showing up at work during the ongoing government shutdown, including missing sessions. Barack Obama also took a sharp dig at Donald Trump, exposing his current practices, which are far from what is expected of him as president. Highlighting how Trump is more focused on beautifying the White House and its surroundings and building a ballroom to entertain guests, Obama sarcastically said that Trump would save people “a dance” if they couldn’t see a doctor. Additionally, he asked people not to worry if they aren’t invited to the upcoming White House “festivities,” as they will always get updates directly from the President himself on Truth Social, a platform where Trump shares his most vile thoughts.

Barack Obama’s strong words about Donald Trump quickly spread across social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). One person commented:

“I like the zero-fu*ks-to-give Obama. More of this, please.”

Another person expressed appreciation for Barack Obama, saying:

“I’m really proud of President Obama. He realizes how close we are to losing our democracy and decided he’s not going to sit on the sidelines like some other former Presidents. I’m sure he’d love to be chilling at the pad, enjoying his family and his riches, and enjoying his golden years. Instead, he’s out here risking Trump’s wrath and trying to get Democrats who care about the country elected.”

Several others shared similar sentiments, expressing admiration for Obama and disdain for Trump. Personally, I am waiting to see what Donald Trump has to say about this incident on Truth Social.
