More, Please: Michael Kelly Takes a Bubble Bath and Explains House of Cards Season 5

Move over, Margot Robbie.

As anybody who saw this latest season of House of Cards can tell you, the Underwoods’ saga seemed to be eerily similar to the real, actual, honest-to-god world that we now occupy. But if you did watch this season and you were a little too burnt out by real world politics to really get a firm grasp on the political intrigue of this fictional world, then this video from Netflix and House of Cards‘ Michael Kelly (Doug Stamper) might help you out … albeit in a strange, eyebrow-furrowing, “what the hell is going on” kind of way, I suppose.

Oh, and just in case: spoilers for House of Cards Season 5 follow.

So, there you have it. It’s the entirety of the show’s fifth season more or less summed up in two minutes while Kelly takes a bubble bath and has champagne poured down his throat. Essentially, it’s a parody of that scene in The Big Short where Margot Robbie explains the subprime mortgage crisis that formed the backbone of that film. It was a strange non-sequitur, but at the very least it provided the wonderful inspiration for this short. Heck, if you pay close enough attention, you’ll see that even Kelly’s strangely sparse bathroom still has a delicately-appointed shelf of beach-themed objects and bottles of sand, just like in Robbie’s bathroom.

So, there you have it. Frankly speaking, I’d be very down to have Kelly explain a few more plots to movies and shows while in a bubble bath. Hey, could you tell me what the hell was up with Primer? Oh, or Donnie Darko? Let’s get right on that, okay? Thanks.
