Miami Private Investigator Followed a Man to a Run Club. He Uncovered His Secret and Finished a 5K Run.
A private investigator tells the story of how he caught two cheaters in a run club.
Infidelity doesn’t always happen at night, somewhere in a seedy motel at the outskirts of the city. Justin (@justinvestigations), a private investigator (PI) from Miami, Florida, proved that cheating can happen anywhere—even at a run club, where people least expect it.
“Here’s the thing about being a private investigator. Sometimes, we do crazy [expletive] just to get answers for our clients,” Justin told Instagram. The Miami-based investigator said that a woman once hired her after she noticed her husband suddenly joined a run club. She claimed that her husband has not been physically active for ten years, making the decision to join a run club dubious.
“Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal. But she knew something was up,” Justin said. The woman called him, and he agreed to take her case on. With a camcorder, he followed the man to the run club by car. Justin recalled that the club had 40-50 people, and he did what many people wouldn’t have expected.
“I take my happy [expletive] out of the car like any good PI would do, and I joined the run club,” Justin said. He even had footage of himself jogging beside the people from the club. Some people might assume that a PI’s work is bound to a desk. Other times, they might be wearing a trench coat or hiding behind a bush, waiting for their target to slip up. One woman from Michigan practically did some PI work after she caught wind of her neighbor having an affair.
But in reality, PI fieldwork involves a great deal of acting skills and sociability. It also requires a level of physical fitness because the job tends to be unpredictable. In this case, Justin needed to run to make it seem like he was just an average gym rat.
Caught after a 5k run
“I stay behind the guy. He’s not really acting some type of way with anyone, but it is hot as hell, and I’m ready to finish.” Justin’s client wanted to know if her assumptions were overblown. Seeing that his target wasn’t getting close to anyone, Justin thought there was nothing more to the man. The 5k run ended, and people from the run club were already bidding each other goodbyes.
“But then, I notice that this guy is hanging back with one woman,” Justin said. He watched as the man supposedly walked across the other parking lot to escort the woman to her car. They allegedly started talking and laughing, as though their banter was extremely familiar.
“She’s about to leave, but when she does, he kisses her goodbye,” Justin revealed. With blurred footage, he showed a photo of a man and a woman beside a car. They were wearing athletic clothing, and they were evidently kissing.
“I got the video. I sent it to the client. Case closed. By the end of the morning, my client had her answer, and I had accidentally completed a 5k,” Justin said. It’s surely one unusual way to get his workout in for the day. Perhaps the only stranger jog someone had on the internet was when a Utah man decided to run against ‘the horse.’
Nevertheless, some commenters were impressed with Justin for being able to complete a run while earning money. Others even joked that he was doing “boots on the ground journalism” for busting a cheater in such a grueling fashion.
