Watch Millie Bobby Brown Shave Her Head Like Furiosa for Stranger Things

Flawless.

For those who’ve seen Stranger Things on Neflix, you know that Millie Bobby Brown is an undeniable force to reckon with. The 12-year-old, rocking a buzzcut and some pretty fierce facial expressions, has amassed a massive following since the series catapulted her name into the mainstream and now she’s sharing the video that started it all.

According to the series creators the Duffer brothers for Entertainment Weekly, Millie walked into the audition for Eleven with long brown hair despite the role calling for her hair to be “buzzed almost to the scalp.” When she and her parents were apprehensive about going through with the big chop, they showed the young actress another fierce character with a buzz cut. “Fortunately, Mad Max: Fury Road was about to come out, so we pulled out a magazine photograph of Charlize Theron as Furiosa and showed it to Millie. ‘Charlize looks totally badass, right?’” they wrote. Millie agreed and had it recorded with the perfect song to accompany her big reveal—Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts.”

To think, she might not have had the confidence to do this had she not seen another boss female with short hair. If that isn’t another example of why representation of different types of beauty matters, I don’t know what it is.
