‘Mean-spirited, backward, schoolyard bully’: Donald Trump does not regret using the R-word on Tim Walz because he thinks there’s ‘something wrong’ with him

Donald Trump has been beefing with Tim Walz for quite some time now. However, while both sides have criticised each other, it’s Trump who has been acting like a child.
On Thanksgiving night, Donald Trump made an elaborate post on Truth Social, speaking poorly of Tim Walz. Among the many accusations, Trump claimed that Walz had done nothing to prevent Somali refugees from taking over Minnesota, as those born in the state were being forced to hide from these ‘gangs’ and stay “locked in their apartments”, hoping to be left alone. “..Hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota. Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for “prey” as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses, hoping against hope that they will be left alone,” Trump wrote in his post before calling Walz the R-word. “The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both,” he said.
When asked if he would like to stand by his R-word comment about Tim Walz during a recent press interaction aboard Air Force One, Trump replied affirmatively and justified his decision by highlighting that he believed something was “wrong” with Walz. He further stated that someone like Walz, who spends enormous amounts of money on Somali refugees, deserved to be referred to by that term.
Donald Trump’s insensitive comments about Tim Walz and his refusal to take back those comments have drawn significant criticism from people online. On X (formerly Twitter), one user wrote:
“I liked the United States better when it had a president who was not an insensitive, mean-spirited, backward, schoolyard bully. But maybe that’s just me.”
Another individual on the platform wrote:
“The R word, piggy, and so on-he says them because he KNOWS every time he does his supporters cheer louder. Being crass and mean, yelling and being angry is the fuel they need – it’s exactly what binds MAGA – it’s not Trump himself, it’s his hatred and meanness that attracts them.”
Many others echoed similar sentiments about Donald Trump.
