Marjorie Taylor Greene brags about ‘fighting’. Then people remind her she’s actually quitting

Marjorie Taylor Greene arrived in Murray County on Thursday to support the residents opposing a biowaste facility. During her speech, she tried to glorify herself for fighting against opponents, but social media didn’t agree.
On Dec. 4, the outcast Republican congresswoman, Greene, gave a speech at a Murray County gym against building an anaerobic digester. Vanguard Renewables, a subsidiary of BlackRock, has proposed to build this digester along Barry-Bennett Road in southern Murray County. However, the residents believe that it isn’t safe and decided to organize a public hearing on the matter.
Greene argued in favor of the residents, telling the Vanguard representatives, “They are tired and fed up.” While she made some points to dissuade the project from continuing, she soon made it personal. “Let me explain to you another reason why I’m here,” she said. “Other than talking to the EPA, this has been the number one issue of calls I have had coming into my office,” she revealed.
But from talking about calls from the residents, she soon diverted to talking about calls from her haters. After all, she’s a Republican, you can’t miss a chance to sing your own praise. Trying to score bravery points by bragging about receiving death threats, she said:
I get all kinds of phone calls. I get death threats. As a matter of fact, the Capitol Police sent me a report this morning that as long I’ve been in Congress five years and my office has reported 773 death threats for me. And I drove up here in my own car with my 9 millimeter in my glove box.
As soon as the audience heard about the 9 mm, they erupted in cheers. So, Greene doubled down. “I didn’t come rolling off with a little nice fancy security team like you guys did,” she asserted. She eventually circled back to the issue she was there to discuss, but decided to clip that moment on X. She shared that 40-second video on X, and wrote:
Since the beginning of my time serving in Congress, my office has received nonstop threats, including many death threats. But I still drive myself up here with my 9mm in the glove box. No security team. No private jet. No bubble of protection to hide behind.
Greene was probably expecting a few extra claps with that narrative, but it backfired. As soon as she began her punchline, she lost her audience.
Meanwhile these elites roll in on private planes with bodyguards to lecture rural communities they’ve never lived in! I’m here fighting for the hardworking Americans they’re completely out of touch with!!
When users saw the word “fighting,” the irony landed hard. They immediately recalled her recent resignation, which she herself explained she took to avoid this fight. One user calmly wrote, “No. You’re not fighting. You’re quitting. Remember? In January.” Another jabbed, “Quitting Congress for that sweet pension but still bragging about no security and a glove box 9mm? Real fighter energy.”
Some pointed out how Greene has been missing every vote in Congress, and yet claims to be fighting for Americans. “Is that why you missed every vote last week, running around touting yourself instead of doing your job?” one wrote. Sadly for her, praise for her supposed “bravery” was nowhere to be found. If anything, it was a reminder that people want results, not tantrums.
