Marjorie Taylor Greene believes the Republicans and Trump are on the verge of breaking up, and she may be right

In the last few weeks, United States Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of Donald Trump. If you have been paying attention, you would know that Greene was one of the few people who vigorously campaigned for Trump’s re-election during the 2024 elections and succeeded. Therefore, their fallout and ongoing conflicts are quite significant.

Recently, Marjorie Taylor Greene has openly criticised Donald Trump for a range of reasons. One of her most notable disagreements with Trump revolves around the controversial Jeffrey Epstein Files. Greene has been a strong advocate for the release of the complete Epstein files to seek justice for the victims. Conversely, Trump has consistently opposed the release of these documents for reasons unclear (though not entirely). Another major point of contention between Greene and the President pertains to national welfare and international relations. While Trump’s second term as President has been marked by numerous international trips, Greene has repeatedly argued that Trump should focus on domestic policies to improve the lives of Americans before turning his attention to global issues. Additionally, Greene has stressed the need to address rising rent and property prices, while Trump has dismissed many of these concerns as a “hoax.” While these are the primary topics where Trump and Greene differ, they currently have conflicting views on a matter that has sparked intense discussion, particularly on social media.

On December 14, 2025, it was reported that the legendary actor, producer, and screenwriter Rob Reiner had passed away, prompting several public figures to share their thoughts on his death. Among those who expressed their condolences were Zooey Deschanel, Jamie Lee Curtis, Barack Obama, and Billy Crystal. While many had kind words for Reiner, one individual took the opportunity to make his death about himself, posting an incredibly obnoxious and insensitive comment. On Truth Social, Trump claimed that he believed Reiner’s death was due to “his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” adding that Reiner was obsessed with him, which he suggested led to Reiner’s paranoia. While Trump may have thought he was gaining favour with his MAGA supporters, his comments backfired, with many in the community (more like a cult) rising against him. Marjorie Taylor Greene was one of those who called out Trump’s remarks for their lack of empathy.

Recently, during an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Greene doubled down on her criticism of Trump’s comments about Rob Reiner, stating that she finds them “classless.” Collins asked Greene why she thought other Republicans had not condemned Trump for his remarks about Reiner and other issues, and Greene hinted that the Republican Party was starting to show signs of division. She pointed out that last week, 13 Republicans voted with Democrats to “overturn” one of President Trump’s executive orders that allowed him to fire federal workers. She also noted that Indiana Republicans recently voted against “redistricting,” suggesting that these trends indicate that Republicans are more focused on their own re-elections than on anyone else, including Donald Trump.
