Man takes woman to Texas Roadhouse after pleading for a date. Then asks what she can ‘offer’ for her $17 bill: ‘Last date of 2026’

Dating in the modern age is tricky business, and sometimes you can find some pretty unhinged stuff on dating apps that makes you want to reconsider dating. For one woman, however, she found herself swearing off dating for the rest of the year after agreeing to go on a first date, which ended with her leaving mid-meal.
“Last date of 2026 I swear,” that was what Les (@caldo.de.les) wrote in the on-screen text in a video on TikTok, which has since amassed over 260,900 views. According to Les, she agreed to go on a first date after a man repeatedly texted her and begged to take her out.
The two eventually met at the man’s choice of restaurant, Texas Roadhouse. While Les didn’t mind the restaurant, describing herself as a “simple girl” who’s “easily impressed,” the trouble came when they finally sat down and the man started speaking. “The first thing he says to me, he’s like, ‘What do you think everyone’s credit score is in here?’” Les said.
Her date focused on everyone’s finances
Alarm bells started ringing in Les’ head, which isn’t surprising considering inappropriate questions on the get-go and on the first date usually lead to disastrous results. But Les pushed on, only for the man’s subsequent questions to revolve around finances. “Shortly after this, every question he asked was, like, financially driven,” Les said. “I hate guys that just talk about money constantly.”
The man allegedly told Les of his plans to become a millionaire within the next year and said he had a “big truck.” The conversation didn’t get any better when the topic moved on to careers, with the man supposedly telling Les she should be “grateful” for earning a nursing wage. “What is actually going on? Like, I’m starting to get irritated,” Les told viewers.
Les said the man also judged Texas Roadhouse, claiming he wore a look on his face that implied he was uncomfortable despite choosing the restaurant. “Yeah, it’s alright. I just picked a place that I thought you would be comfortable in. […] A place that’s in your budget,” the man told Les, according to the TikToker.
So far, Les felt confused by how the date was turning out, and it didn’t seem like it would get any better. “First, you told me that I’m ungrateful that I make ‘too much money,’” Les said. “And now, you’re telling me that I’m broke, I guess? I’m actually confused.”
The rest of the conversation was just “nails on a chalkboard” to Les, but the real kicker was when the topic veered into how they’ll settle the bill, and the man seemingly showed his true intentions. “I don’t know what’s worse: A man asking you to split the bill, or a man being like, ‘what are you gonna do in exchange for me paying the bill?’” Les said.
She makes her escape
According to Les, the man allegedly insinuated that she should come home with him if he paid for the date by asking her what she could “offer” in exchange. At that point, Les had only ordered a Dr. Pepper and an appetizer that she was sharing with the man, totaling just $17 so far.
Les immediately told the man she was offering “nothing of value,” and pointed out to viewers how men have begun confusing “dating with prostitution,” as going on dates now comes with strings attached, it seemed. Les didn’t stick around any longer after that, and made her escape the moment the man went to the bathroom.
Viewers in the comments were unsurprised that a man’s behavior during a first date can seemingly go so low. “As soon as you said the credit score comment I sighed out loud,” one viewer wrote. Another added that they believe the man was “negging” Les, a manipulation tactic used to lower someone’s self-esteem through subtle insults and criticisms.
Others praised Les’ decision to leave, saying, “Normalize getting up and walking out at the FIRST red flag.” Some claim that the man’s behavior was the result of Andrew Tate’s influence and the promotion of the manosphere in recent years. “That’s this new generation of guys that grew up watching Andrew Tate and fresh and fit. They think that dating is just a transaction and that all women just want money and status from a man. It’s pretty sad,” a viewer said.
“Moral of the story: I’m done dating. Clearly it’s just not in the cards for me right now,” Les told viewers. While Les may not have walked out with a man, she did save herself a possible relationship headache and ended the night with a new pair of boots she bought.
