Kristi Noem just got called out for lying about military veterans, and the internet is rejoicing

It’s no secret that people under the Trump administration love to lie. In any circumstance, their primary defence mechanism is to be dishonest. Therefore, when the United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, is in the spotlight, the immediate response is typically to be deceptive, and that is exactly what happened in a recent incident.
On December 11, 2025, Kristi Noem appeared for a congressional hearing where U.S. Representative Seth Magaziner challenged her about her alleged misuse of power and the unlawful deportation of military veterans through ICE raids. He further accused her of causing significant distress to immigrant individuals, including children, some of whom were suffering from serious illnesses like cancer, by separating them from their families and placing them in detention for deportation later.
As they discussed Noem’s deportation practices, Magaziner asked her to confirm how many U.S. military veterans she had deported. She responded negatively, claiming that neither she nor her department had deported any U.S. citizens or military veterans. Magaziner then asked Noem if she believed that America owed “everything” to those who served in the military and protected the nation from external threats, particularly those who had been in combat. Noem began her reply with, “Sir, I believe that people that are in the United States, that are citizens, have legal status here…” but was interrupted by Magaziner, who introduced a U.S. Army combat veteran named Se Jun Park via a Zoom call.
Magaziner revealed that Park was one of the people deported by ICE and the Department of Homeland Security after years of service in the U.S. military. He emphasised that Park had been shot twice while serving in Panama in 1989 and had developed PTSD from his experiences, which led him to substance use. He noted that his drug use was a personal issue, stressing that he was not trying to harm anyone else. He also pointed out that despite his contributions to the United States, he was deported to Korea, a country he had not lived in since he was 7 years old, by Noem and her associates. Following these allegations, Noem tried to defend herself against the accusations but was nearly left speechless when Magaziner presented additional complaints against her.
Videos of Seth Magaziner logically confronting Kristi Noem and her being almost speechless spread across social media, prompting people to ridicule Noem for her failure to counter Magaziner’s statements, as most of what he said was quite accurate.
