We all know that Joseph Gordon Levitt is a talented actor, director, and even a burgeoning show biz impresario through his collaborative production company, Hit Record. But who knew the guy could dance?

OK, so maybe we kind of already knew.

In one of the most epic Lip Sync Battles to date, Joseph Gordon Levitt channeled Janet Jackson (complete with on-point lipstick and a pony tail) to perform an awesome lip sync to her classic 1990s hit, “Rhythm Nation.” The singing may be fake, but the dancing is SO REAL. What I love about this show is that it gives people we already know as a certain kind of performer the chance to show us another side of themselves, revealing talents that don’t get to come out and play too often.

Like choosing a slammin’ lipstick shade.

Thank you, Mr. Levitt, for your service.
