J.K. Rowling, ever the day-brightener, tweeted a request for her followers to wish James S Potter the best of luck as he embarks on his first day of school at Hogwarts. Of course, she’d do it herself, but she’s in Edinburgh at the moment, and as we all know, that’s nowhere near King’s Cross’ Platform 9 3/4. This being the first day of school at Hogwarts, there have been plenty of other incredibly notable first days for first years, such as when our heroic trio first met and were sorted.

Of course, if a profoundly famous author tweeted all of her followers to say hello to you, perhaps you’d be a little annoyed by how many people would be coming up to you with well wishes. Figures, then, that Rowling totally thought of that.

If I had this many people coming up to me on the Hogwarts Express, then it wouldn’t take long for me to just be like…

Sorry ’bout it.
