Is Spider-Man in Doctor Strange 2?

***Spoilers ahead for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness***

There are a lot of unexpected appearances from Marvel Studios and comics characters in Doctor Strange 2. But many fans want to know if we get to see Peter Parker aka Spider-Man again. This curiosity makes sense, since Doctor Strange played a big part in Spider-Man: No Way Home, casting the spell that accidentally broke open the Multiverse and eventually casting the spell at Peter’s request that makes all of his friends (and the whole world) forget about him and forget that he is Spider-Man.

In addition to the Earth 616 Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, in Spider-Man: No Way Home we also meet older multiverse versions of Peter, played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (who played the character in their own cinematic series). And considering that Doctor Strange is traveling through the multiverse, it’s not unreasonable to imagine that he could happen upon those Peters again.

So does Spider-Man / Peter Parker show up in Doctor Strange 2?

Alas, there’s no cameo from Tom Holland in Multiverse of Madness, nor do we see Maguire or Garfield or other Spider-Mans that we love like Miles Morales. However, we do get a mention of Peter and an acknowledgment of his (mis)adventures in No Way Home. Doctor Strange explains that it’s because of Spider-Man that he knows about the multiverse in the first place. This intriguing tidbit lets us know that Doctor Strange at least remembers something of what happened with Peter, even if he doesn’t remember Peter specifically or that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. This leaves the door open for future Marvel movies or TV shows to turn to Spider-Man as someone who knows something about the multiverse and who has experience with its effects. It’s a potential way to bring Spider-Man and Peter Parker back into the fold, even if he seems to be going it on his own right now.
