‘I’d like to punch him in the face’: Robert De Niro has had enough of Donald Trump in a recent video

Robert De Niro, known for his roles in Raging Bull and Silver Linings Playbook, is not particularly fond of Donald Trump. Throughout Trump’s first term as President of the United States, De Niro stood out as one of the few public figures who openly criticised him. Even during Trump’s second term, De Niro has consistently voiced his opposition, particularly highlighting Trump’s increasingly authoritarian behaviour.
Recently, a video featuring Robert De Niro, dating back to 2016, harshly condemning Donald Trump has resurfaced and gained significant traction on popular social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter). This resurgence has sparked important conversations among people about holding those in power accountable for their actions. In the video in question, De Niro refers to Trump as a “punk,” a “dog,” a “pig,” a “con,” and a “bullshit artist.” He also calls him “a mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” De Niro accuses Trump of not doing his homework, lacking care, and not paying his taxes. He further labels him an “idiot,” a “national disaster,” and an “embarrassment to this country.” De Niro also expresses a desire to physically tackle Trump, stating:
“This fool. This bozo has wound up where he has. He talks how he wants to punch people in the face. Well, I’d like to punch him in the face.”
Although this video is from some time ago, Robert De Niro’s opinions on Donald Trump have remained unchanged. Most notably, in October, De Niro had strong words for Trump, when he compared him to a King and encouraged people to participate in the nationwide ‘No Kings’ marches as a form of protest against the current administration. Additionally, De Niro participated in a roundtable discussion on MSNBC where he blasted Trump, calling him an “alien” devoid of “empathy” who seeks to harm others. On numerous other occasions, he has also openly voiced his disapproval of Trump and his administration.
