I miss when all we wanted to talk about was this 2024 blockbuster hit

Sometimes, you think back to a movie release and wish you could go to the theaters again. That’s kind of where I am with Twisters summer. I miss her.

In the summer of 2024, there was a movement. That movement was loud, enthusiastic, and it resulted in fans bringing the film back to 4DX after it was replaced. I am talking about the love of Twisters as a 4DX experience. Was my life changed when I saw the film? Yes. Was it further changed for the better when I saw it in 4DX? Obviously. And I really do miss the joy everyone seemed to have while talking about the Lee Isaac Chung movie.

Tyler (Glen Powell) and Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones) are two characters in love with each other even if they won’t admit it and the entire film is a beautiful little rom-com minus the kissing. Don’t worry, it was an entire thing that summer. But what I loved most of all was how much we all became obsessed with the 4DX experience of it.

4DX is not everyone’s cup of tea but what was so much fun about Twisters summer was that we all collectively decided that it was the most fun time at the theater. So much so that when Deadpool & Wolverine ultimately kicked it out of the 4DX screenings, we all complained enough that they brought it back for audiences. Now, over a year later, I still miss hearing the cheers when Glen Powell walked into the rain in a white t-shirt.

And look, I’m not alone in missing this movie. People are still making fan videos from the movie:

So yes, after all this time, we all still miss talking about Twisters. And for good reason: Movie ruled! And maybe if we all start talking about it again we can relive the magic? Or at least get a sequel where Kate and Tyler kiss?
