Houston Woman Tries on a Romper at Burlington. Then She Spots a Roach Crawling on the Clothes: ‘It’s the Roach Queen for Me’

More roaches, gross.

Discount retailers are often praised for their surprise finds, whether that means a designer piece marked down or an off-season steal buried on a clearance rack. Shoppers who frequent stores like Burlington know that digging through the racks can turn up just about anything if you’re willing to look long enough.

For Houston TikToker Glo (@iam_glo), a routine Burlington haul turned into something she definitely wasn’t expecting. Glo filmed her shopping trip and shared the haul with viewers, showing off the clothes, shoes, bags and accessories she picked up during her visit.

The video played out like a usual shopping haul, with Glo excitedly going through her finds and talking about pieces she planned to wear for concerts, everyday outfits and other occasions. But as the camera moves across the clothing, something else in the store ends up stealing the spotlight.

So what was actually crawling on the dress?

A bug can be seen making its way across a white dress with a brown floral print, turning an ordinary clothing haul into a very different kind of shopping video. It isn’t the first time a clothing purchase went very wrong, but Glo didn’t exactly hide her reaction to her own discovery. She captioned the clip, “It’s the roach queen for me in Burlington chile. That’s why I go to Marshall’s.”

The comments quickly filled with reactions from viewers who were either horrified by the sight or amused by the unexpected visitor. One commenter said they “would’ve passed out and died,” while another joked that the bug was simply shopping alongside everyone else.

Other viewers leaned into the humor, with one person calling the encounter a “free gift with purchase.” That kind of immediate disgust is familiar territory, too, we’ve seen another Houston shopper deal with bugs in his purchase, so it seems to be common. Another commenter used the moment as a reminder to wash clothes before wearing them after bringing them home from a store.

The comments also sparked a debate over what exactly the insect was. Some referred to it as a cockroach, while others brought up the term “palmetto bug,” which is commonly used in the South for certain large cockroaches, including American and smokybrown cockroaches. Whatever shoppers wanted to call it, the unexpected discovery became the memorable part of Glo’s Burlington trip.
