Watch Groot’s Childhood in Animated Guardians of the Galaxy: Origins Clips

When Groot was but a young sapling.

The animated Guardians of the Galaxy: Origins show has been revealing the bittersweet beginnings of each of the team’s heroes, one by one. So far, we’ve seen a young Peter Quill, and now we have a look at a sapling-sized Groot (and, in part two, a brief glimpse of baby Rocket Raccoon).  These short clips, which highlight the striking beauty of Groot’s former home and the tragedy of his childhood loss, focus less on fast-paced humor and more on misty-eyed sadness.

What do you think about the Guardians of the Galaxy: Origins clips so far? Do you plan to watch Disney XD’s longer animated series when that’s out?
